It is my pleasure to present the CBR Year Book for the financial year
2000-2001. It contains detailed information about the federal taxes
administrated by the Central Board of Revenue. The data and its analysis in
various chapters relating to each tax gives a brief overview of the tax policy
direction of the Government.
An important feature of this Edition is that it contains the most recent
organizational structure of the Board and its field departments, consequent to
the tax administrative reforms and restructuring measures initiated during the
current fiscal year. These steps should enable the tax machinery to meet the
requirements and challenges of the modern day world and a progressive economy.
I appreciate the hard work put in the preparation of this document by Mr.
Muhammad Arshad Parwaiz, Director(R&S), CBR and his team. I also facilitate Mr.
Naseer Ahmed, Member (Central Excise) for his guidance in the completion of this
