• Reforms for reduction in litigation already introduced.
• Full support provided to Members of Board in the Reform Process.
• A remarkable reduction in the number of first appeals.
• Offices of Commissioners/Collectors (Appeals) restructured.
• Close liaison maintained with other organizations/ institutions.
• Effectively managed work of over 50 active advocates and overall work of 200 advocates.
• A number of contracts were vetted.
• Opinion/advice rendered to the Members of the Board.
• Resolution of legal disputes in a number of cases.
• Service matters assistance provided to Admin Wing of FBR.
• FTO complaints were effectively handled.
• Growing trend in FTO complaints on the issue of time limitation curtailed on the advice of Legal Wing.
• Strategy adopted by Legal Wing to settle genuine FTO complaints.
• Computer Networking and Connectivity effectively planned and being implemented in coordination with PRAL
• A separate page for Legal Wing created on FBR Website. Case law and President’s decisions also put up.
• FBR Act, 2007, promulgated.
• Over 90 budget proposals sent to line Members. Majority of these proposals incorporated in the relevant Acts

Difficulties/Hurdles

• Posting of two Accountant and two Technical Members for Appellate Tribunal Benches.
• Current slow disposal by the Courts during the recent judicial crisis will have impact on disposal of pending litigation cases.
