Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) and Directorate General, Intelligence and Investigation-Customs have intensified countrywide operations against smuggled and Non-Duty paid cigarettes. IREN has confiscated 11.7 million cigarettes worth Rs. 45 million involving duty and tax evasion of Rs. 24.4 million. Similarly, in an another operation carried out by Directorate General, Intelligence and Investigation-Customs, huge quantity of smuggled cigarettes and Gutka valuing Rs. 80.1million has been seized which was concealed at Bolton Market, M.A. Jinnah Road, Karachi. FIR has been lodged against the guilty persons.
In pursuit of Prime Minister’s vision and special instructions of Chairman FBR, crackdown against counterfeit, smuggled and non-duty paid cigarettes is in full swing. Inland Revenue Enforcement Network is active in all parts of the country to restrict the trade of illegal cigarettes. The teams of IREN are working under Regional Coordinators in all major cities of the country and Central Coordinator, Intelligence and Investigation, Islamabad.

ان لینڈ ریونیو انفورسمنٹ نیٹ ورک اور ڈائیریکٹوریٹ جنرل انٹیلی جنس اینڈ انوسٹی گیشن کسٹمز ، ایف بی آر نے ملک بھر میں غیر قانونی سمگل شدہ اور نان ڈیو ٹی پیڈ سگریٹ کے خلاف کاروائیاں تیز کر دی ہیں۔ اس سلسلے میں ان لینڈ ریونیو انفورسمنٹ نیٹ ورک نے کاروائیاں کرتے ہوئے ملک بھر میں مختلف برانڈز کے 45 ملین روپے کے 11.7 ملین سگریٹ تحویل میں لے لئے ہیں جس کے ذریعے 24.4 ملین روپے کی ڈیوٹی اور ٹیکسز چوری کی گئ۔اسی طرح ڈائیریکٹوریٹ جنرل انٹیلی جنس اینڈ انوسٹی گیشن کسٹمز نے آپریشن کرتے ہوئےایم اے جناح روڈ پر واقع بولٹن مارکیٹ کراچی سے بڑی مقدار میں سمگل شدہ سگریٹ اور گٹکا ضبط کر لیا ہے جس کی مالیت 80.1 ملین روپے ہے۔
وزیر اعظم پاکستان کے ویثرن اور چئیرمین ایف بی آر کی خصوصی ہدایات کے مطابق سگریٹ کی غیر قانونی تجارت کی روک تھام کے لئے کاروائیاں جاری ہیں۔ان لینڈ ریونیو انفورسمنٹ نیٹ ورک کی ٹیمیں پورے پاکستان میں متحرک ہے۔ ان لینڈ ریونیو انفورسمنٹ نیٹ ورک کی ٹیمیں پورے ملک میں اپنے ریجنل کو آرڈینیٹرز اور سینٹرل کوآرڈینیٹر انٹیلی جنس اینڈ انوسٹی گیشن اسلام آبادکی نگرانی میں موثر طریقے سے سر گرم ہیں۔
