Building further on government's vision to promote trade with the regional partners and enhance border management, President of Pakistan presided over an important meeting of the relevant stakeholders and government institutions at Gawadar, on Friday.
Making the optimum use of the opportunity and on the sidelines of the visit of by President, Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division spent an eventful day there. He visited Pak-Iran border (Gabd/BP-250) and held an interactive session with the local trade community. The traders lauded his visit as being the first ever by any Chairman FBR at Gabd. Various issues pertaining to bilateral trade with Iran were discussed which included valuation of imported items through land route, establishment of banking channel with Iran, plant and animal quarantine certification issues on both sides, avenues for enhancing exports and development of infrastructure at border. He assured the traders that all the matters pertaining to FBR will be resolved as early as possible. Moreover, he also promised to take up the issues with other ministries for easing out the difficulties of faced by traders.
These meetings generated an important discussion regarding the pressing need for an effective border management. It was decided that FBR, as a lead agency, would carry out an exercise with some development partners to survey the whole borders to identify the possibility of opening up new border points for customs clearance. He further clarified that the Customs Border Stations will be classified into 3 categories, with each category having distinct features of infrastructure and administrative controls. The proposed exercise will be completed within 2 months, he concluded.

علاقائی شراکت داروں کے ساتھ تجارت کو فروغ دینے اور بارڈر کے انتظامات میں اضافے کے حکومتی وژن کے تسلسل میں صدر پاکستان نے جمعہ کے روز گوادر میں متعلقہ اسٹیک ہولڈرز اور حکومتی اداروں کے ایک اہم اجلاس کی صدارت کی۔
صدر مملکت کے دورہ کے موقع کو مناسب طور بروئے کار لانے کیلئے چیئرمین ایف بی آر/سیکریٹری ریونیو ڈویژن نے بھی وہاں ایک اہم دن گزارا۔ انہوں نے پاک ایران سرحد (گبد / بی پی 250) کا دورہ کیا اور مقامی تاجر برادری کے ساتھ ایک جامع سیشن کیا۔ تاجروں نے ان کے دورے کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ کسی بھی چیئرمین ایف بی آر کا گبد میں پہلا دورہ ہے۔ ایران کے ساتھ دوطرفہ تجارت سے متعلق مختلف امور پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا جن میں زمینی راستے سے درآمد شدہ اشیاء کی قیمت کا تعین، ایران کے ساتھ بینکنگ چینل کا قیام، دونوں طرف پودوں اور جانوروں کے قرنطینہ سرٹیفیکیشن کے مسائل، برآمدات میں اضافے کے امکانات اور سرحد پر انفراسٹرکچر کی ترقی شامل ہیں۔ انہوں نے تاجروں کو یقین دہانی کرائی کہ ایف بی آر سے متعلقہ تمام مسائل کو جلد از جلد حل کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے تاجروں کو درپیش مسائل کے ازالے کیلئے دیگر وزارتوں کے سامنے معاملات رکھنے کا بھی وعدہ کیا۔
بعد ازاں، انہوں نے جیوانی کا دورہ کیا اور جیوانی کو ایرانی ساحلی قصبے پاسابندر کے لیے درآمدی/برآمدی بندرگاہ کے طور پر کھولنے کے امکانات پر تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ اس موقع پر کوئٹہ چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری اور گوادر چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری کے صدور بھی ان کے ہمراہ تھے۔
ان ملاقاتوں میں مؤثر سرحدی انتظام کی ضرورت پر اہم تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔ یہ فیصلہ کیا گیا کہ ایف بی آر ایک اہم ادارے کے طور پر، تمام سرحدوں کا سروے کرنے کیلئےمتعدد ترقیاتی شراکت داروں کے ساتھ مل کر کام کرے گا تاکہ کسٹم کلیئرنس کے لیے نئے بارڈر پوائنٹس کھولنے کے امکانات کی نشاندہی کی جا سکے۔ انہوں نے مزید واضح کیا کہ کسٹمز بارڈر اسٹیشنز کو تین کیٹگریز میں تقسیم کیا جائے گا، ہر کیٹیگری میں انفراسٹرکچر اور انتظامی کنٹرول کی الگ خصوصیات ہوں گی ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مجوزہ کام 2 ماہ کے اندر مکمل ہو جائے گی۔
