Building further on its ongoing drive for digitization and automation of various processes involved in revenue collection, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has developed “Single Sales Tax Portal” to facilitate the taxpayers and ensure the ease of doing business. This watershed development of the Single Tax Portal developed by FBR is the outcome of various rounds of negotiations between FBR and the provincial revenue authorities. FBR has already offered this portal to the provincial revenue authorities in order to facilitate the taxpayers through one-link facility. The portal is in the final stages of testing and is likely to be launched by the last week of October, 2021.
It is pertinent to mention that till now, Sales Tax registered persons had to file their monthly Sales Tax returns separately to every tax jurisdiction where they conducted business, such as FBR, Sindh Revenue Board, Punjab Revenue Authority, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority and Balochistan Revenue Authority. Some of the taxpayers had to file returns with revenue authorities of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. This was a cumbersome task, which often led to complications and disputes over jurisdiction.
Single Sales Tax Portal will also help in simplification of the tax procedures. It will enable the taxpayers to save time and effort, and reduce their compliance costs. By minimizing data entry, it also addresses the issues of data and calculation errors. The system will automatically apportion input tax adjustment as well as tax payments across the sales tax authorities. Through this system, officers of all revenue authorities will be able to make better informed decisions about matters related to Sales Tax.
The single portal system is a significant milestone towards taxpayers’ facilitation and a big leap forward towards harmonization of taxes between the Federal Government and the provinces.
ایف بی آر نے ٹیکس گزاروں کی سہولت کے لئے سنگل سیلز ٹیکس پورٹل تیار کر لیا
محصولات کو اکھٹا کرنے کے عمل کو مزید خودکار بناتے ہوئے فیڈرل بور ڈ آف ریونیو نے سنگل سیلز ٹیکس پورٹل تیار کر لیا ہے تا جس کی وجہ سے تجارتی آسانی کو فروغ ملے گا اور ٹیکس گزاروں کو مزید سہولیات فراہم کی جا سکیں گی ۔ ایف بی آر نے صوبائی ریونیو اتھاریٹیز کے ساتھ ہونے والی متعدد ملاقا توں کے بعد اس سنگل پورٹل کو تیار کیا ہے۔ایف بی آر نے اس سنگل پورٹل کو صوبائی ریونیو اتھاریٹیز کے ساتھ شئیر کیا ہے تاک ایک لنک کے ذریعے تمام ٹیکس دہندگان کو سہولت دی جا سکے۔ یہ پورٹل ٹرائل کے آخری سٹیج پر ہے اور اکتوبر 2021 کے آخری ہفتہ تک متعارف کر دیاجائے گی۔
ایف بی آر نے اعلامیہ میں کہا کہ اب تک سیلز ٹیکس میں رجسٹرڈ افراد کو اپنے ماہانہ سیلز ٹیکس گوشوارے اپنے کاروباری حدود کی ٹیکس اتھاریٹیز جیسے ایف بی آر، سندھ ریونیو بورڈ، پنجاب ریونیو اتھارٹی ، خیبر پختونخواہ ریونیو اتھارٹی اور بلوچستان ریونیو اتھارٹی کو الگ الگ داخل کرنا پڑتے تھے۔ کچھ رجسٹرڈ افراد کو تو آزاد جموں و کشمیر اور گلگت بلتستان کی ریونیو اتھاریٹیز میں بھی گوشوارے داخل کرنا پڑتے تھے۔ یہ ایک پییچیدہ کام تھا جس کی وجہ سے غلطیوں اور حدود کے تعین پر تنازعات کا احتمال رہتا تھا۔
سنگل سیلز ٹیکس پورٹل ٹیکس طریقہ کار کو آسان بنائے گا۔ ٹیکس گزاروں کا قیمتی وقت بچے گا اور تعمیلی لاگت کم ہو گی۔ ڈیٹا اندراج میں کمی کو وجہ سے ڈیٹا اور حساب میں غلطیاں نہیں ہوں گی۔ یہ نظام خود کار طریقہ سے ان پٹ ٹیکس ایڈجسٹمنٹ کا تعین کرے گا اور تمام ٹیکس اتھاریٹیز کے لئے سیلز ٹیکس کی یکساں ادائیگی کو یقنی بنائے گا۔ اس نظام کی بدولت تمام ریونیو اتھاریٹیز کے افسران سیلز ٹیکس سے متعلق بہتر فیصلے کر سکیں گے۔
سنگل پورٹل سسٹم ٹیکس گزاروں کی سہولت کے لئے اہم سنگ میل ہے اور وفاقی حکومت اور صوبائی حکومتوں کے درمیان ٹیکسز میں اہم آہنگی لانے کے لئے ایک بڑا اقدام ہے۔
