Building further on its outreach and awareness drive to maximize tax compliance, FBR is engaging with country's youth enrolled at various public and private universities across Pakistan. It has already established collaboration with three key institutions in Islamabad which include Bahria University, NUST, and Quaid e Azam University. Moving farther on the road, it has reached an agreement with University of Central Punjab, Lahore. In this regard, a simple ceremony was held on Friday at UCP Head Office, Lahore to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between University of Central Punjab Lahore, and Federal Board of Revenue (HQs), Islamabad. The MoU was signed by Dr. Nassar Ikram Pro Rector, UCP and Mr. Muhammad Asad Tahir, Chief FATE-Director Media, FBR.
The MoU is aimed to promote tax culture and awareness amongst the future generation through citizenship education programs. It encompasses establishment of Tax Awareness & Compliance Society (TACS) to function as a vibrant platform to ensure students' participation in tax awareness and compliance activities by engaging them through awareness walks, declamation contests, focused group discussions, and dramatic performances etc. Furthermore, the MoU also encapsulates enhancing employability skills of students through on- campus trainings in tax filing areas. This innovative initiative endeavors to capitalize on the 'demographic dividend' of the country and thus make our youth tax compliant citizens.
It was also agreed between the two organizations, that a customized module about taxation will be offered to students at BS(Hons) for degree programs such as Management, Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Law and Marketing. Training sessions and seminars will provide opportunities of hands-on learning for the students inclined to specialize in these areas of study. Through mutual cooperation, both organizations have agreed to provide experiential learning opportunities to the students for grooming them responsible citizens. It was also mutually agreed that FBR will offer internship opportunities to students of UCP in order to enhance their employment opportunities.
The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Rashid Javaid Rana, Secretary Facilitation and Taxpayers Education(FATE) FBR, Mr. Zubair Anwar, Head Centre for Professional Excellence, Dr.Hadia Awan, Dean Faculty of Law, Registrar, Mr. Raheel Bhatti and other senior faculty members.
Earlier, Muhammad Asad Tahir, Chief FATE-Director Media addressed students and faculty members about the scope & significance of tax compliance. It was followed by an engaging question & answer session, covering various aspects of taxation and initiatives launched by FBR. The session concluded on an interesting quiz program on tax related matters after which the winners were given away token prizes on behalf of Chairman and team FBR.

ٹیکس کمپلائنس میں اضافے کیلئے اپنی آؤٹ ریچ اور آگاہی مہم کے تسلسل میں، ایف بی آر پاکستان بھر کی مختلف سرکاری اور نجی یونیورسٹیوں میں داخلہ لینے والے طلباء کے ساتھ مصروف عمل ہے۔ ایف بی آر اس سے قبل اسلام آباد میں تین اہم اداروں کے ساتھ اشتراک کر چکا ہے جن میں بحریہ یونیورسٹی، نسٹ اور قائد اعظم یونیورسٹی شامل ہیں۔ مقصد کو مزید آگے بڑھاتے ہوئے ایف بی آر نے یونیورسٹی آف سنٹرل پنجاب، لاہور کے ساتھ معاہدہ کیا ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں بروز جمعہ یو سی پی ہیڈ آفس لاہور میں یونیورسٹی آف سنٹرل پنجاب لاہور اور فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو (ہیڈکوارٹرز) اسلام آباد کے درمیان مفاہمت کی یادداشت پر دستخط کیلئے ایک سادہ سی تقریب کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ ایم او یو پر ڈاکٹر ناصر اکرام پرو ریکٹر، یو سی پی اور محمد اسد طاہر، چیف فیٹ/ ڈائریکٹر میڈیا ایف بی آر نے دستخط کیے۔
اس معاہدے کا مقصد شہریت کی تعلیم کے پروگرامز کے ذریعے مستقبل کے معماروں میں ٹیکس کلچر کو فروغ اور آگاہی دینا ہے۔اس میں ایک متحرک پلیٹ فارم کے طور پر ٹیکس آگاہی اور کمپلائینس سوسائیٹی کا قیام شامل ہے۔ تا کہ طلباء کو آگاہی واک، مقابلہ جات، فوکسڈ گروپ ڈسکشنز، اور ڈرامہ پرفارمنس وغیرہ کے ذریعے شامل کر کے ٹیکس کےمتعلق آگاہی اور کمپلائنس کی سرگرمیوں میں شامل کیا جا سکے۔ معاہدے کا مقصد ٹیکس فائلنگ کے شعبوں میں کیمپس ٹریننگ کے ذریعے طلباء کیلئے روزگار کیلئے صلاحیتوں کو بڑھانا بھی ہے۔ یہ اختراعی اقدام ملک کے 'ڈیموگرافک ڈیویڈنڈ' سے فائدہ اٹھانے کے سلسلے میں ایک کوشش ہے تاکہ ہمارے نوجوانوں کو ٹیکس گزار شہری بنا یا جا سکے۔
دونوں اداروں کے مابین اس بات پر بھی اتفاق کیا گیا کہ بی ایس (آنرز) کے طلباء کو مینجمنٹ، اکاؤنٹنسی، اکنامکس، فنانس، لاء اور مارکیٹنگ جیسے ڈگری پروگرامز کے لیے ٹیکسیشن کے متعلق مخصوص ماڈیول آفر کیا جائے گا۔ ان شعبوں میں مہارت حاصل کرنے کیلئے رغبت رکھنے والے طلباء کو تربیتی سیشنز اور سیمینار کے ذریعے سیکھنے کے مواقع فراہم کئے جائیں گے ۔ باہمی تعاون کے ذریعے دونوں اداروں نے طلباء کو ذمہ دار شہری بنانے کے لیے تجرباتی لرننگ کے مواقع فراہم کرنے پر اتفاق کیا ہے۔ اس بات پر بھی اتفاق کیا گیا کہ ایف بی آر یو سی پی کے طلباء کو ان کے روزگار کے مواقع بڑھانے کے لیے انٹرن شپ کے مواقع فراہم کرے گا۔
تقریب میں راشد جاوید رانا، سیکرٹری فیسیلی ٹیشن اینڈ ٹیکس پیئرز ایجوکیشن ، ایف بی آر، زبیر انورہیڈ سینٹر فار پروفیشنل ایکسی لینس، ڈاکٹر ہادیہ اعوان، ڈین فیکلٹی آف لاء،رجسٹرار راحیل بھٹی اور دیگر سینئر فیکلٹی ممبران نے بھی شرکت کی۔
قبل ازیں محمد اسد طاہر، چیف فیٹ/ ڈائریکٹر میڈیا نے طلباء اور فیکلٹی ممبران سے ٹیکس کمپلائنس کے دائرہ کار اور اہمیت کے بارے میں خطاب کیا۔ بعد ازیں سوال و جواب کا ایک دلچسپ سیشن ہوا، جس میں ٹیکس کے مختلف پہلوؤں اور ایف بی آر کی جانب سے شروع کیے گئے اقدامات کا احاطہ کیا گیا۔ سیشن ٹیکس سے متعلق ایک دلچسپ کوئز پروگرام پر اختتام پذیر ہوا جس کے بعد جیتنے والوں کو چیئرمین اور ٹیم ایف بی آر کی جانب سے ٹوکن انعامات دیے گئے۔
