Building further on its countrywide anti-smuggling operations, Pakistan Customs (FBR) has seized narcotics worth Rs.115 Million at Torkham, Pak-Afghanistan Border. The contraband items included Heroin Powder, Hashish, Opium and Methamphetamine. The huge cache of Narcotics was concealed in a specially designed cavity in a Bedford Truck entering Pakistan from Afghanistan via Customs Station Torkham. When the cavity was opened with the help of welding machine, it led to the recovery of foreign origin Narcotics having an estimated value of Rs.115 Million. In an another operation, due to enhanced enforcement mechanism placed at border stations, a vehicle carrying foreign origin fire crackers, artfully concealed under the consignment of onions were seized. The estimated weight of fire crackers has been determined to be 5413 KGs having an estimated value of Rs. 10 Million. In both the cases the culprits have been arrested and FIRs have been lodged under Customs Act, 1969. Further investigations in the cases are underway.
Federal Board of Revenue is following a policy of zero tolerance against smuggling and thereby has increased vigilance and surveillance of cargo movement across the border. Accordingly, years old SOPs have also been revised and additional staff is deployed to border stations including posting of staff at zero point to thwart any external threats to the country. Pakistan Customs(FBR) will continue its counter smuggling drive to support local industry and to safeguard the society from all external threats including narcotics.
Advisor to PM on Finance and Revenue, Shaukat Tarin, has commended FBR for its successful anti-smuggling drive across Pakistan. Likewise, Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division, Dr.Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed has appreciated Member Customs (Ops) FBR, Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda, in ensuring zero tolerance against smuggling of all shades and grades. He further reiterated his unflinching resolve to fight the menace of smuggling across the country in order to maximize tax compliance.

پاکستان کسٹمز (ایف بی آر) نے اپنی ملک گیر انسداد سمگلنگ کی کارروائیوں کو جاری رکھتے ہوئے طورخم، پاک افغان بارڈر پر 115 ملین روپے مالیت کی منشیات پکڑی ہیں۔ ممنوعہ اشیاء میں ہیروئن پاؤڈر، چرس، افیون اور میتھم فیٹامائن شامل ہیں۔ کسٹمز سٹیشن طورخم کے راستے افغانستان سے پاکستان میں داخل ہونے والے بیڈ فورڈ ٹرک میں مخصوص خانے میں منشیات کا بہت بڑا ذخیرہ چھپایا گیا تھا۔ مخصوص خانے کو ویلڈنگ مشین کی مدد سے کھولنے پر اس میں سے غیر ملکی منشیات برآمد ہوئیں جن کی مالیت تقریباً 115 ملین روپے تھی۔ ایک اور کارروائی میں بارڈر اسٹیشنز پر اضافی انفورسمنٹ میکنزم کی بدولت پیاز کی کھیپ کے نیچے کمال مہارت سے چھپائے گئے غیر ملکی فائر کریکرز لے جانے والی ایک گاڑی پکڑی گئی۔ فائر کریکرز کا وزن تقریباً 5413 کلو گرام اور تخمینہ مالیت ایک کروڑ ہے۔ دونوں واقعات میں ملوث ملزمان کو گرفتار کر لیا گیا اور کسٹم ایکٹ 1969 کے تحت ایف آئی آر درج کر لی گئی ہیں۔ مقدمات کی مزید تفتیش جاری ہے۔
فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو اسمگلنگ کے خلاف عدم برداشت کی پالیسی پر عمل پیرا ہے لہٰذا سرحد پار کارگو کی نقل و حرکت پر کڑی نظر رکھنے اور نگرانی خصوصی طو رپر بڑھائی گئی ہے ۔ ۔ اسی لیے برسوں پرانے ایس او پیز میں بھی ترمیم کی گئی اور ملک کو لاحق کسی بھی قسم کے بیرونی خطرات کو ناکام بنانے کے لیے زیرو پوائنٹ پر عملے کی تعیناتی سمیت بارڈر اسٹیشنز پر اضافی عملہ تعینات کیا گیا۔ پاکستان کسٹمز مقامی صنعت کو سپورٹ کرنے اور معاشرے کو منشیات سمیت تمام بیرونی خطرات سے بچانے کے لیے انسداد اسمگلنگ مہم جاری رکھے گا۔
وزیر اعظم کے مشیر برائے خزانہ و محصولات شوکت ترین نے ایف بی آر کی پاکستان بھر میں کامیاب انسداد سمگلنگ مہم کی تعریف کی ہے۔ چیئرمین ایف بی آر/سیکریٹری ریونیو ڈویژن ڈاکٹر محمد اشفاق احمد نے ممبر کسٹمز (آپریشنز) ایف بی آرسید محمد طارق ہدا کو ہر طرح کی سمگلنگ کے خلاف زیرو ٹالرنس کو یقینی بنانے پر سراہا۔ انہوں نے ٹیکس کمپلائنس کو بڑھانے کیلئے ملک بھر میں اسمگلنگ کے ناسور سے لڑنے کے لیے اپنے غیر متزلزل عزم کا اعادہ کیا۔
