Since its creation, the Directorate General of IPRE has been working tirelessly with utmost dedication and diligence to protect and promote Intellectual Property Rights. The Directorate General has to its credit 55 Forfeitures worth 6672 million Rupees during the period of 2022-2023 alone. The Directorate General engages in a multifaceted approach, focusing on various functions related to intellectual property rights (IPR) enforcement. Owing to the proactive identification and seizure of counterfeit items during import and export processes the performance of the Directorate General has increased manifolds in the last few years which is evident from the data given below:
