Objectives of such In-Service Courses / Training are as follow:

• To increase the participants' level of understanding and interpretation of Income Tax Law (as also procedure) so as to equip them with the ability to guide and supervise officers and staff under them;
• To apprise them of the duties and responsibilities assignable to the Inspecting and Appellate Assistant Commissioners and thus prepare them to play a more effective and meaningful role as supervisory officers;
• To bring about an informed appreciation of tax policy and tax administration so as to promote direct taxation as a tool of fiscal development;
• To develop amongst the participants an understanding of the concept and techniques of modern financial analysis as employed in financial institutions, business and industry.
