DOT (IR), Regional Directorate, Karachi.

The Directorate of Training (Income Tax) Karachi was established in 1991 for training of support staff in a single room of Block # 48-C, Pakistan Secretariat, Saddar, Karachi. However, no training program could be launched till 1994-95 due to space constraints. In 1994-95 the whole Block comprising 06 rooms was allotted to the DOT, Karachi, and training programs for Income Tax Inspectors, UDCs & LDCs, Stenos, N.Qs etc., were started. In August, 2002 the DOT Karachi was shifted to first floor of Old Custom House, Tower, Karachi. In same year it launched Capacity Building Training Program for the Officers of Income Tax Group in BPS-17 & 18.   

In 2003 Computer Labs with the assistance of PIFRA were established in two rooms on 3rd Floor of Income Tax Building, Kamal-Ata-Turk Road, Karachi. In the same building 4 more rooms were allotted to DOT., Karachi for offices of  officers /officials

However, the computer labs and offices at 3rd Floor, of Income Tax Building were vacated in view of renovation of Income Tax Building, Kamal Ata Turk Road, Karachi and in lieu thereof the DOT, Karachi, was again allotted with Block # 48-C, Pakistan Secretariat, Saddar, Karachi comprising 06 rooms. Presently the DOT Karachi is conducting its training programmes partly at Block # 48-C, Pakistan Secretariat, Saddar, Karachi and partly at Old Custom House, Tower, Karachi.

FACILITIES:

CLASS ROOMS: Two computer labs cum class rooms at Block 48C and one class room at Old Customs House.

COMPUTER LABS:

The Two computer Labs-cum-Class room. All the 35 PCs are linked through Networking and have installed Softwares of Income Tax Law & Rules, CBR Brouchers and Computerized Tax Law of Rehmatullah Malik;

TRAINING ACTIVITIES at DOT Karachi:

The DOT, Karachi, is embarking training courses both for officers and support staff as follows:

  • Capacity Building Training Programme. DCsIT/ ACsIT (BS-17 & 18).

  • Foundation Course & Computer Literacy Programme for ITOs / SOs (BS-14 & 16).

  • Foundation Course & Computer Literacy Programme for Income Tax Inspectors (BS-11).

  • Tax Management System Programme for Officers. (BS –17 to 19)

  • Implementation of - Tax Management System Programme for Supporting Staff.  (BS – 5  to 15)

  • Shorthand & Computer Literacy Programme for Stenographers/ Stenotypists (BS-12 & 15)

  • Computer Literacy (Office Automation) Programme for Clerks (BS-5 & 7)
