Upon the directions of Chairman FBR, Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana and under the direct supervision of the Member Inland Revenue (Operations) Mr. Mir Badshah Khan Wazir, IR Field Formations of FBR, during counter-evasion operation, has conducted countrywide crackdown on counterfeit and non-stamped cigarettes and seized 1,235 Packerites of cigarettes having approximate value of Rs. 96 Million. A total number of 4,652 retail outlets all over the country have been visited out of which 33 have been sealed for illicit tobacco trade.
It is pertinent to mention that a total of 204 teams comprising 1047 number of total human resource has taken part in an enforcement drive to curb movement of illicit cigarettes.
The Chairman FBR, Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana and Member Inland Revenue (Operations) Mr. Mir Badshah Khan Wazir, lauded the efforts of IR field formations taking part in the said exercise. They acknowledged that despite minimal human resource and logistics, Inland Revenue Enforcement Network is persistently making endeavours to eradicate the menace of illicit tobacco trade.
It has further been resolved that all the culprits involved in the illicit tobacco trade and evading the Government’s revenue shall be dealt with iron hand and will be liable to penal proceedings under the relevant rules. In the next phase the repeat offenders are likely to be arrested.

چیئرمین ایف بی آرملک امجد زبیر ٹوانہ کی ہدایات پر اور ممبر ان لینڈ ریونیو (آپریشنز) میر بادشاہ خان وزیر کی براہ راست نگرانی میں ان لینڈ ریونیو کی فیلڈ فارمیشنز نے نان سٹمپڈ اور جعلی سگریٹس کی فروخت کے خلاف ملک گیر کریک ڈاؤن کیا جس کے دوران سگرٹیس کے 1235 پیکرائٹس جن کی کل مالیت تقریباً 96 ملین روپے ہے ضبط کیے گئے۔
کریک ڈاؤن کے دوران ملک بھر میں 4652 پرچون فروشوں کی دکانوں کی جانچ پڑتال کی گئی جس میں سے 33 دکانوں کو تمباکو کی غیر قانونی تجارت کرنے پر سیل کر دیا گیا۔
یہاں یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ غیر قانونی سگریٹس کی خرید و فروخت روکنے کے لئے 1047 افراد پر مشتمل 204 ٹیموں نے کریک ڈاؤن میں حصہ لیا۔
چیئرمین ایف بی آر ملک امجد زبیر ٹوانہ اور ممبر آئی آر(آپریشنز) میر بادشاہ خان وزیر نے اس مہم میں حصہ لینے والی فیلڈ فارمیشنز کی کوششوں کو سراہا۔ اُنہوں نے تسلیم کیا کہ کم انسانی وسائل اور لاجسٹکس کے باوجود ان لینڈ ریو نیو انفورسمنٹ نیٹ ورک سگریٹس کی غیر قانونی تجارت کی لعنت ختم کرنے کے لئے مسلسل کوششیں کررہا ہے۔
مزید یہ فیصلہ بھی کیا گیا ہے کہ سگریٹس کی غیر قانونی تجارت اور حکومت کا ریونیو چوری کرنے والے مجرموں سے آہنی ہاتھوں سے نمٹا جائے گا اور اُن کے خلاف متعلقہ فوجداری قوانین کے تحت مقدمات چلائے جائیں گے۔ کریک ڈاؤن کے اگلے مرحلے میں اس جرم کا دوبارہ ارتکاب کرنے والوں کو گرفتار کیا جائے گا۔
