KARACHI, Jan 26 (APP):Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Rashid Mahmood Langrial on Sunday said that Pakistan Customs has achieved significant success in modernizing its performance, including the implementation of the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and Faceless Customs Assessment (FCA) System, which have made the trade process faster, transparent and easier, resulted in significant increase in revenue and enabled the clearance of export goods in a short time.
The Chairman FBR said this while addressing as chief guest in the ceremony held to mark International Customs Day-2025 at the Customs House Karachi.
Referring his recent interactions with the traders’ community, Rashid Mahmood Langrial said that the traders’ bodies in Karachi are glad because of introduction of FCA System by Pakistan Customs.
The Chairman FBR declared the World Customs Theme-2025 “Customs delivering on its commitment to efficiency, security and prosperity” as very important for Pakistan Customs as it strives to make itself a modern, dynamic and future-thinking institution.
On the occasion, the Chairman FBR also hoisted the flag and, laid wreaths at the Martyrs’ Monument and recited Fateha.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, Collector Customs Enforcement Karachi, Moinuddin Wani thanked Chairman FBR, Rashid Mahmood Langrial, Member Customs Operation (FBR), Junaid Jalil and other guests for their presence.
At the end of the ceremony, Member Customs Operation (FBR) Junaid Jalil in his address, thanked Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial and other guests for attending the ceremony.
He reiterated the commitment that in the future as well, Pakistan Customs will continue to play its active role in combating smuggling and stabilizing the country’s economy and promoting as well as facilitating business activities across the country.
Junaid Jalil lauded the Customs officials for playing their role in stabilizing the country’s economy by utilizing their capabilities and expressed the hope that they will play their role in the same way in the future as well.
He highly appreciated and expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event.
Later, Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial distributed certificates of appreciation among the officers on their outstanding performance.
It may be noted here that, International Customs Day is celebrated all over the world on January 26. Like in previous years, this year too, World Customs Day was celebrated in all the Collectorates of Customs across Pakistan including the grand ceremony at the Customs House Karachi under the auspices of the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Karachi.
The event was attended among others by the Consul Generals of Oman, Indonesia, Kuwait, and the representatives of Russian and UAE consulates, chief commissioners, chief collectors, collectors, other senior officers of Customs, representatives of law enforcement agencies, business and social figures.

(اے پی پی) چیئرمین فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو راشد محمود لنگڑیال نے اتوارکو انٹرنیشنل کسٹمز ڈے 2025 کی مناسبت سے کسٹمز ہاؤس کراچی میں منعقدہ تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پاکستان کسٹمز نے اپنی کارکردگی کو جدید بنانے میں نمایاں کامیابیاں حاصل کی ہیں، جن میں پاکستان سنگل ونڈو ( پی ایس ڈبلیو) اور فیس لیس کسٹمز اسیسمنٹ سسٹم کا نفاذ شامل ہے۔ ان اقدامات سے تجارتی عمل تیز، شفاف اور آسان ہو گیا ہے، جس کے نتیجے میں محصولات میں نمایاں اضافہ ہوا اور برآمدی سامان کی کلیئرنس مختصر وقت میں ممکن ہوئی ہے۔
تاجروں کے ساتھ حالیہ ملاقاتوں کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے کہا کہ کراچی کے تجارتی حلقے پاکستان کسٹمز کی جانب سے فیس لیس کسٹمز اسیسمنٹ سسٹم کے نفاذ پر خوش ہیں۔ چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے ورلڈ کسٹمز تھیم 2025 "Customs delivering on its commitment to efficiency, security and prosperity " کو پاکستان کسٹمز کے لیے نہایت اہم قرار دیا، کیونکہ پاکستان کسٹمز خود کو ایک جدید، متحرک اور مستقبل کو پیش نظر رکھنے والا ادارہ بنانے کی کوشش کر رہا ہے۔
اس موقع پر چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے پرچم کشائی کی، شہداء کی یادگار پر پھول چڑھائے اور فاتحہ خوانی بھی کی۔ تقریب کے آغاز میں کلکٹر کسٹمز انفورسمنٹ کراچی، معین الدین وانی نے چیئرمین ایف بی آر، را شد محمود لنگڑیال ، ممبر کسٹمز آپریشنز (ایف بی آر)، جنید جلیل اور دیگر معزز مہمانوں کا تقریب میں شرکت کرنے پر شکریہ ادا کیا۔ تقریب کے اختتام پر، ممبر کسٹمز آپریشنز (ایف بی آر) جنید جلیل نے خطاب کرتے ہوئے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ مستقبل میں بھی پاکستان کسٹمز ملک کی معیشت کو مستحکم کرنے، اسمگلنگ کی روک تھام کرنے ، کاروباری سرگرمیوں کو فروغ دینے اور سہولتیں فراہم کرنے میں اپنا فعال کردار جاری رکھے گا۔ جنید جلیل نے ملک کی معیشت کو مستحکم کرنے میں کسٹمز افسران کی خدمات کو سراہا اور امید ظاہر کی کہ وہ مستقبل میں بھی اسی طرح اپنا کردار ادا کرتے رہیں گے۔انہوں نے تقریب کے منتظمین کی کاوشوں کو سراہتے ہوئے ان کا شکریہ بھی ادا کیا۔ بعد ازاں، چیئرمین ایف بی آر راشد محمود لنگڑیال نے شاندار کارکردگی کا مظاہرہ کرنے والے افسران میں تعریفی اسناد تقسیم بھی کیں۔
یہاں یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ ہر سال 26 جنوری کو دنیا بھر میں انٹرنیشنل کسٹمز ڈے منایا جاتا ہے۔ گذشتہ برسوں کی طرح اس سال بھی پاکستان کے تمام کسٹمز کلکٹریٹس میں ورلڈ کسٹمز ڈے منایا گیا، جن میں سے کسٹمز ہاؤس کراچی میں کلکٹریٹ آف کسٹمز انفورسمنٹ کراچی کے زیر اہتمام منعقدہ مرکزی تقریب قابل ذکر تھی۔ تقریب میں عمان، انڈونیشیا، کویت کے قونصل جنرلز، روس اور متحدہ عرب امارات کے قونصل خانوں کے نمائندوں، چیف کمشنرز، چیف کلکٹرز، کلکٹرز، کسٹمز کے دیگر سینئر افسران، قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں کے نمائندے ، کاروباری اور سماجی شخصیات سمیت دیگر معززین نے شرکت کی۔
