The inauguration ceremony of hostel building for customs probationary officers for the Specialized Training Program along with the farewell ceremony of the 39th CTP Specialized Training Program and launching ceremony of the Specialized Training Program for the 40th CTP was conducted at the Directorate General of Training & Research (Customs), Karachi on May 24, 2013. The Honourable member Customs, Mr. Mohammad Riaz Khan, graced the occasion as chief guest.
Ceremony started with recitation of the Holy Quran followed by address of Director, Ms. Rubina Wasti, who presented an overview of the Academic activities of the Directorate General of Training & Research (Customs), Karachi. She also dilated upon the facilities available in the newly built hostel for probationary officers. Previously the hostel facility for Probationary Officers was located at Gulshan e Iqbal and officers had to travel for about an hour to reach the Directorate, whereas the newly built hostel building is situated within the premises of DGTR, Karachi and is fully equipped with all modern facilities, ensuring a very comfortable stay for the probationary officers.
Ms. Rubina Wasti, Director, DGTR Customs Karachi, also appreciated the efforts and contributions of the Directors Generals of DGTR Karachi, Member (Admin) FBR, Islamabad, all Directors & officers of DGTR and officers of Pakistan Public Works department, Karachi for their strenuous efforts for completion of this land mark.
Member (Admin) in his speech thanked the Director, DGTR Customs Karachi and assured his full support to the training activities of the DGTR Customs, Karachi.
Honorable chief guest, Mr. Mohammad Riaz Khan was all praise for the DGTR Customs, Karachi, especially Ms. Rubina Wasti, Director, DGTR Customs, Karachi for making training lively and so rewarding. He assured continued support of the Board to the DGTR Customs, Karachi and probationary officers of Pakistan Customs Service.
All Officers from Revenue Collectorates and Directorates of South region participated in the ceremony.
Ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks to and from the Honourable Chief guest followed by a dinner.
