MEMBER IT HOLDS E-FILING WORKSHOP WITH TRADE ASSOCIATIONS OF LAHORE
As a part of FBR’s campaign to increase the number of returns, Member IT held an e-filing workshop with trade associations in Regional Tax Office-II, Lahore on Saturday, September 16th, 2017. The workshop was attended by more than 100 traders including office bearers of all major
trade associations of Lahore as well as by the President Lahore Tax Bar Association.
Member IT and Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office-II, Lahore apprised the participants of the importance of filing their returns in time. Member IT explained that in order to avoid unnecessary burden on Iris in the last days of September, it would be beneficial for the traders to ensure that their returns are filed well before 30th September, the last date for filing of returns.
The workshop included a presentation given by Mr. Zain ul Abidin Sahi Chief IT, on e-filing in which the participants were briefed about who was liable to file return electronically and given a step by step guide on how to e-file their returns. In the Question and Answer session after the presentation, Member IT responded to various queries of the traders regarding the e-filing process and clarified their confusions about tax law and Iris.
The participants appreciated the effort by FBR and pledged to fulfill their national obligation within time. Member IT and CCIR RTO-II Lahore assured the traders that they were always welcome to visit the FBR offices for redressal of any issues that they faced in filing their returns electronically and that their issues would be resolved in a quick and satisfactory manner.
After successful workshops in Lahore, IT Wing plans to conduct similar workshops in other cities including Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sialkot next week.
