Building on its momentum to maximize tax compliance, Federal Board of Revenue’s Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) Squads, has seized 8,320,000 illegal cigarettes worth Rs. 21,479,625 involving duties and taxes of Rs. 17,242,635 in the month of November, 2021. Likewise, in the first five months of FY- 2021-22, IREN has seized non duty / tax paid cigarettes of Rs. 177,959,737 (approximately 74,131,500 sticks) resulting in detection of evasion of duties and taxes worth Rs. 142,905,265.
It is pertinent to mention that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has recently launched Track & Trace System on the Sugar Sector. Therefore, IREN has also been entrusted to ensure its enforcement in entire supply chain of Sugar Industry. For this purpose, the Chief Coordinator IREN and his Regional Enforcement Squads across Pakistan are geared to conduct raids and and ensure seizures on the non-tax paid sugar stocks, which move out of the factory premises/warehouses without tax stamps. As a result, IREN Squads have intensified their operations in every nook and corner of the country, against the non-compliant supply chain operators dealing in sugar sector in order to maximize revenue potential.
The Squads have raided various sugar dealers in almost all big cities and various small towns to check sugar stocks. During these raids Hyderabad Squad has seized stock of 172 sugar bags without affixing of Tax Stamps in the premises of M/s Gulzar & Co. The stock of 172 sugar bags was seized and legal action was being initiated against those who were found involved in the tax evasion.
Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed, the Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division has appreciated the performance of IREN Squads and announced cash reward for those officers, who conducted successful raids. He stated that Track & Trace system coupled with IREN’s valiant drive would help overcome the menace of non-tax paid goods in the market.

ٹیکس کمپلائنس کو زیادہ سے زیادہ کرنے کے لیے فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو کے ان لینڈ ریونیو انفورسمنٹ نیٹ ورک (IREN) اسکواڈز نےماہ نومبر 2021میں 1 کروڑ 72 لاکھ 42 ہزار 635 روپے کی ٹیکس اور ڈیوٹیز پر مبنی ،2 کروڑ 14 لاکھ 79 ہزار 625 روپے مالیت کے 83 لاکھ 20 ہزار غیر قانونی سگریٹ ضبط کیے ۔ اسی طرح مالی سال 2021-22 کے پہلے پانچ ماہ کے دوران IREN نے17 کروڑ 79 لاکھ 59 ہزار 737 روپے (تقریباً 74,131,500 سگریٹ )کے غیر ادا شدہ ڈیوٹی/ٹیکس سگریٹ ضبط کیے ہیں جس کے نتیجے میں 14 کروڑ 29 لاکھ 5 ہزار265 روپے کی ڈیوٹی اور ٹیکس کی چوری پکڑی گئی ۔
قابل ذکر بات یہ ہے کہ وزیراعظم پاکستان نے حال ہی میں شوگر سیکٹر پر ٹریک اینڈ ٹریس سسٹم کا آغاز کیا ہے۔ لہٰذا IREN کو شوگر انڈسٹری کی پوری سپلائی چین میں اس کو نافذ العمل کرنے کی ذمہ داری بھی سونپی گئی ہے۔ اس مقصد کے لیے چیف کوآرڈینیٹر IREN اور ان کے ریجنل انفورسمنٹ اسکواڈز پورے پاکستان میں چھاپے مارنے اور بغیر ٹیکس ادا کیے جانے والے چینی کےسٹاک کو ضبط کرنے کے لیے کیلئے ہمہ وقت مستعد ہیں ، جو ٹیکس سٹیمپ کے بغیر فیکٹری کے احاطے/گوداموں سے نکلتے ہیں۔ منافع بڑھانے کیلئے شوگر سیکٹر سے وابستہ عدم تعمیل کرنے والے سپلائی چین آپریٹرز کے خلافIREN اسکواڈز نے ملک کے ہر کونے میں اپنی کارروائیاں تیز کر دی ہیں ۔
اسکواڈز نے چینی کا سٹاک چیک کرنے کے لیے تقریباً تمام بڑے شہروں اور مختلف چھوٹے قصبوں میں چینی ڈیلرز پر چھاپے مارے ہیں۔ ان چھاپوں کے دوران حیدرآباد اسکواڈ نے میسرز گلزار اینڈ کمپنی کے احاطے میں بغیر ٹیکس اسٹامپ لف کئے 172 چینی کے تھیلوں کا سٹاک ضبط کرلیا اور ٹیکس چوری میں ملوث افراد کے خلاف قانونی کارروائی کی گئی۔
ڈاکٹر محمد اشفاق احمد، چیئرمین ایف بی آر/سیکرٹری ریونیو ڈویژن کی طرف سے IREN سکواڈز کی کارکردگی کو سراہا گیا اور کامیاب چھاپے مارنے والے افسران کے لیے نقد انعامات کا اعلان کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ٹریک اینڈ ٹریس سسٹم IREN کی بہادرانہ مہم کے ساتھ مارکیٹ میں ٹیکس نادہندگان اشیاء کےناسور پر قابو پانے میں مددگار ثابت ہو گا۔
