On the second day of his visit to Quetta, Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division, Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed, spent a busy day at Pak-Iran border and visited Customs House, Taftan on Saturday. He was accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Saeed Khan Jadoon, Member (Customs Policy), FBR, Mr. Muhammad Sadiq, Chief Collector Customs (Balochistan) and Mr. Rashid Habib, Collector Customs, Appraisement, Quetta. The Chairman was warmly received by the officers and staff of Appraisement and Enforcement Collectorate at Juzak Airfield.
During the visit, Colonel Asad, General Manager, NLC, Quetta briefed the Chairman about different initiatives taken by NLC for the traffic management at Taftan and further apprised him about future projects of NLC. Later, Chairman FBR visited Bazarcha Zero Point and discussed its reopening with Frontier Corps and District Administration. He remarked that the issue of allocation of land for Bazarcha would also be taken up with the Chief Secretary, Balochistan.
The Chairman then visited Pak-Iran border and newly established NLC Border Terminal at Taftan. He directed the NLC authorities at Taftan to provide facilities for the Customs staff, traders, and the passengers. He visited the Customs Baggage and Immigration Hall where he was briefed by the Additional Collector Enforcement and FIA authorities. He also visited newly constructed Customs Complex and appreciated the efforts of the Collectorate of Appraisement for establishing the infrastructure in the far-flung area. He directed to renovate the building to make ample space for the residences of officers and officials being posted at Taftan. He further directed to complete the project by the end of February, 2022 before he visits Taftan again. He also inaugurated the mosque constructed by the Pakistan Customs with the assistance of local traders.
Afterwards, the Chairman held a meeting with the local notables led by Mr. Ejaz Khan Sanjrani and consisting of influencers and businessmen from Taftan, Mashkel and Nokundi. They expressed their concerns over the closure of Bazarcha Border Point at Mashkel. Chairman FBR assured the delegates that Bazarcha will soon be re-opened after fulfilment of all necessary legal formalities. He also informed the notables from Mashkel that the re-opening of Customs Station Katagar will be planned in consultation with all the stakeholders.
Last but not the least, Chairman FBR held an important meeting with the Iranian delegation comprising of DG Customs Seistan & Balochistan province, representatives of Ministries of commerce, Transportation, Foreign Affairs and Border Security who presented a charter of demands. He assured the Iranian delegation of his fullest support in strengthening mutual cooperation and promised to involve the Federal Government in ensuring the required intervention at policy level. He directed the Chief Collector, Customs (Balochistan) to resolve the operational issues on top priority.
چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے پاک ایران بارڈر تفتان پر مصروف دن گزارا
چیئرمین ایف بی آر/سیکرٹری ریونیو ڈویژن ڈاکٹر محمد اشفاق احمد نے اپنے کوئٹہ کے دورے کے دوسرے روز پاک ایران بارڈر پر مصروف دن گزارا اور ہفتہ کے روز کسٹم ہاؤس تفتان کا دورہ کیا۔ ڈاکٹر محمد سعید خان جدون، ممبر (کسٹمز پالیسی) ایف بی آر، محمد صادق، چیف کلکٹر کسٹمز (بلوچستان) اور راشد حبیب، کلکٹر کسٹمز اپریزمنٹ کوئٹہ بھی ان کے ہمراہ تھے۔ جوزاک ایئر فیلڈ پر اپریزمنٹ اینڈ انفورسمنٹ کلکٹریٹ کے افسران اور عملے نے چیئرمین کا والہانہ استقبال کیا۔
دورے کے دوران کرنل اسد، جنرل منیجر این ایل سی کوئٹہ نے چیئرمین کو تفتان میں ٹریفک کے انتظام کے حوالے سے این ایل سی کی طرف سے کئے گئے مختلف اقدامات اور این ایل سی کے آئندہ منصوبوں کے بارے میں آگاہ کیا۔ بعد ازاں چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے بازارچہ زیرو پوائنٹ کا دورہ کیا اور فرنٹیئر کور اور ضلعی انتظامیہ کے ساتھ اسے دوبارہ کھولنے کے سلسلے میں تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بازارچہ کا معاملہ چیف سیکریٹری بلوچستان کے سامنے بھی پیش کیا جائے گا ۔
بعد ازاں چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے پاک ایران سرحد اور تفتان میں نئے قائم کردہ این ایل سی بارڈر ٹرمینل کا دورہ کیا۔ انہوں نے تفتان میں این ایل سی حکام کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ کسٹمز سٹاف، تاجروں اور مسافروں کو سہولیات فراہم کریں۔ انہوں نے کسٹمز بیگیج اینڈ امیگریشن ہال کا دورہ کیا جہاں انہیں ایڈیشنل کلکٹر انفورسمنٹ اور ایف آئی اے حکام کی طرف سے بریفنگ دی گئی ۔ انہوں نے نئے تعمیر شدہ کسٹمز کمپلیکس کا دورہ بھی کیا اور دور دراز علاقے میں انفراسٹرکچر کے قیام پر کلکٹریٹ آف اپریزمنٹ کی کاوشوں کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے تفتان میں تعینات افسران اور اہلکاروں کے لئے عمارت میں مناسب رہائش کی دستیابی کو یقینی بنانے کی ہدایت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ان کے تفتان کے دوبارہ دورے سے پہلے فروری 2022 کے اختتام تک اس پروجیکٹ کی تکمیل کو یقینی بنائیں ۔ انہوں نے مقامی تاجروں کے تعاون سے پاکستان کسٹمز کی طرف سے تعمیر کردہ مسجد کا بھی افتتاح کیا۔
بعد ازاں چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے اعجاز خان سنجرانی کی قیادت میں مقامی اور تفتان، مشخیل اور نوکنڈی کے عمائدین اور معززین کے ساتھ ملاقات کی۔ انہوں نے مشخیل میں بازارچہ بارڈر پوائنٹ کی بندش پر اپنے تحفظات کا اظہار کیا۔ چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے مندوبین کو یقین دہانی کرائی کہ بازارچہ تمام اہم قانونی تقاضوں کی بجا آوری کے بعد بہت جلد دوبارہ کھول دیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے مشخیل کے معززین کو بتایا کہ کسٹم سٹیشن کاتاگر کو دوبارہ کھولنے کی منصوبہ بندی تمام متعلقین کی مشاورت سے کی جائے گی۔
چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے ایرانی وفد کے ساتھ انتہائی اہم ملاقات کی جس کی قیادت ایران کے ڈی جی کسٹمز صوبہ سیستان و بلوچستان نے کی۔وفد میں وزارت کامرس، ٹرانسپورٹیشن ، فارن افئیرز اور بارڈر سیکیورٹی کے نمائیندگان شامل تھے جن کی طرف سے ایک چارٹر آف ڈیمانڈ پیش کیا گیا۔ انہوں نے ایرانی وفد کو باہمی تعاون کو مستحکم کرنے میں اپنی مکمل حمایت کا یقین دلایا اور پالیسی سطح پر درکار تعاون کو یقینی بنانے میں وفاقی حکومت کو بھی شامل ِکردار کرنے کا بھی وعدہ کیا ۔ انہوں نے چیف کلکٹر کسٹمز (بلوچستان) کو آپریشنل مسائل کو تجیحی بنیادوں پر حل کرنے کی ہدایت کی۔
