A Contract has been signed between Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and AJCL along with its lead partner Authentix Inc. USA and Mitas Corporation of South Africa to operationalize Track & Trace Solution on Tobacco, Cement, Sugar and Fertilizer Sectors here at FBR Headquarters, Islamabad on 5th March, 2021.
Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed, Member (IR-Operations), FBR, Mr. Kevin McKenna, CEO and President of Authentix Inc USA, Sten Bertelsen, from Mitas Corporation (Pty) South Africa and Mr. Omer Jaffer CEO of AJCL Private Limited signed the Contract on behalf of their respective organizations.
The Track and Trace Solution is to be rolled out across the Tobacco, Cement, Sugar and Fertilizer Sectors from 1st July 2021 in Pakistan with a view to enhancing tax revenue, reducing counterfeiting and preventing the smuggling of illicit goods through the implementation of a robust, nationwide, electronic monitoring system of production volumes and by the affixation of more than 5 billion tax stamps on various products at the production stage, which will enable FBR to track the goods throughout the supply chain.
Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed, Member (IR-Operations), FBR welcoming the CEO Authentix and other members of the Consortium remarked that FBR shall be working closely with AJCL Consortium during the rollout of the program across different industries on very aggressive timelines.
Mr. Kevin McKenna of Authentix stated that like in other countries, it is expected that the Program would help provide a transformational boost to the local economy, enhance revenue and make the tax collection process more transparent for the benefit of industry.
Mr. Omer Jaffer, CEO AJCL, remarked that the Consortium was looking forward to working with FBR to configure and implement the various components of the solution, including the tax stamp application and production monitoring equipment and ramping up the production of the specialized tax stamps that will act as unique identification marks on the products.
It is believed that installation of the track and trace system in the specified sectors would be a game changer and would bring more than 45million tons of cement, more than 4 billion sticks of tobacco cigarettes, more than 4million tons of sugar and more than 30 million tons of fertilizer into the tax net as well enhance digitization of economic activity, improve revenue forecasting and curb counterfeit products in the market.

فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو اور اے جے سی ایل بمہ اس کے پارٹنرز آتھینٹیکس Authentixیو ایس اے اور میٹاس کارپوریشن جنوبی افریقہ کے درمیان مخصوص سیکٹرز جیسے تمباکو، سیمنٹ، چینی اور کھاد کے لئے ٹریکس اینڈ ٹریس نظام کو چلانے کے لئے کنٹریکٹ پر دستخط ہوئے۔
ڈاکٹر محمد اشفاق احمد ممبر آئی آر آپریشنز نے ایف بی آر کی طرف سے اور Kevin McKenna بیحیثیت چیف ایگزیکٹیو و صدر آتھینٹکس ، Sten Bertelsen میٹاس کارپوریشن جنوبی افریقہ اور عمر جعفر چیف ایگزیکٹیو اے جے سی ایل نے کنٹریکٹ پر دستخط کئے۔
مخصوص سیکٹرز جیسے تمباکو، سیمنٹ، چینی اور کھاد کے لئے ٹریک اینڈ ٹریس نظام کا آغاز یکم جولائی 2021 کو کر دیا جائے گا۔ اس نظام کی بدولت ٹیکس ریوینیو میں اضافہ ہو گا۔ الیکٹرانک طریقہ کار سے نگرانی اور پیداواری سطح پر 5 ارب ٹیکس سٹیمپس لگانے کے باعث پورے ملک میں جعلی اور ممنوعہ اشیاء کی سمگلنگ کو کنٹرول کیا جا ئے گا اور اشیاء کو ٹریک کیا جا سکے گا۔
ڈاکٹر محمد اشفاق احمد ممبر آئی آر آپریشنز نے چیف ایگزیکٹیو افسر آتھینٹکس اور دوسرے حاضرین کو خوش آمدید کہتے ہوئے کہا کہ ایف بی آر اے جے سی ایل کے ساتھ مل کر مقررہ وقت کے اندر اس نظام کو پایہ تکمیل تک پہنچائے گا۔
آتھینٹکس کے چیف ایگزیکٹیو افسر نے کہا کہ اس پروگرام کی وجہ سے مقامی معیشت کو فروغ ملے گا اور شفافیت کی وجہ سے ریونیو میں اضافہ حاصل ہو گا۔ چیف ایگزیکٹیو افسر اے جے سی ایل نے کہا کہ کنٹریکٹ کرنے والی پارٹیز ایف بی آر کے ساتھ مل کر پیداوار کی نگرانی اور اشیاء کی مخصوص شناخت کے لئے ٹیکس سٹیمپس کو لگانے کے لئے مل کر کام کریں گی۔
ٹریک اینڈ ٹریس نظام 45 ملین ٹن سیمنٹ، 4 ارب سے زائد سگریٹ سٹکس، 4 ملین ٹن سے زائد چینی اور 30 ملین ٹن کھاد کو ٹیکس نیٹ میں لانے کا باعث بنے گاجس سے جعلی اشیاء کا خاتمہ اور ریونیو میں اضافہ ہو گا۔
