Latest FBR Releases
Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released the information of collected revenue in FY-2019-20. According to the released information, FBR has collected revenue of 3989 billion in FY 2019-20 which is 82 billion more than the revised revenue target of 3907 billion set for the outgoing Fiscal Year. The net revenue collected in FY 2018-19 was 3826 billion.
The gross revenue collected in the FY 2018-19 was 3895 billion which has surpassed 4 trillion in FY 2019-20 for the first time in the history making the total gross revenue as 4123 billion.
Despite outbreak of Corona Virus, there was growth of 5 percent in Income Tax, 9 percent in Sales Tax, 7 percent in Excise Duty and negative growth of 8.4 percent in Customs Duty. In FY 2019-20, FBR has issued refunds of 235 billion which were 69 billion in FY 2018-19 showing an increase of 340 percent.
The decrease in Customs Duty was due to deliberate reduction of imports to overcome Current Account Deficit. Due to reduction in imports, an impact of 700 billion shortages in revenue collection occurred, which resulted in setting a new revised target of 4803 billion from 5505 billion in December, 2019. There was a robust growth of 27 percent in domestic taxes till February, 2020 and it was highly expected that revised revenue target of 4803 would be achieved. However, due to continuous lockdown in the wake of Corona Virus outbreak, the revenue target was further revised to 3907 billion which was achieved after persistent and dedicated efforts of FBR officers and staff despite danger to their lives due to Corona Virus.
FBR has further clarified that the current revenue collection figures are provisional data as the revenue collection is expected to further increase after inclusion of collection from book adjustments, Form 32A, Federal Treasury Receipts and offline branches of National Banks.
It is pertinent to mention that more than 30 employees of FBR have died due to Corona Virus which also includes a grade-22 Customs officer Muhammad Zahid Khokhar. FBR employees have been performing their duties with great devotion and zeal particularly in such dangerous situation when their own lives were at stake due to Corona outbreak.

فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو نے مالی سال 20-2019 میں حاصل کردہ ریوینیو کی تفصیلات جاری کر دی ہیں جس کے مطابق ایف بی آر نے ریوینیو کی مد میں 3989 ارب اکھٹے کئے جو کہ مالی سال کے نظر ثانی شدہ ہدف 3907 ارب روپے کے ہدف سے 82 ارب زیادہ ہے جبکہ مالی سال 19-2018میں حاصل کردہ نیٹ ریوینیو 3826 ارب رہا تھا۔ پچھلے مالی سال19-2018 میں 3895 ارب گراس ریوینیو حاصل ہوا تھا جبکہ اس سال تاریخ میں پہلی دفعہ یہ رقم چار کھرب کی حد کو عبور کرکے 4123 ارب تک پہنچ گئی ہے ۔
کرونا وبا کے باوجود انکم ٹیکس میں شرح نمو 5 فی صد ، سیلز ٹیکس میں 9 فی صد ، ایکسائز ڈیوٹی میں 7 فی صد اور کسٹمز میں منفی 4۔8 فی صد رہی ۔ اس سال ایف بی آر نے 235 ارب روپے کے ریفنڈ بھی ادا کئے جو پچھلے سال ادا کئے جانے والے 69 ارب کے مقابلے 340فی صد زیادہ ہے ۔
کسٹمز ڈیوٹی میں کمی کی بنیادی وجہ غیر ضروری درآمدات میں کمی کی دانستہ کوشش ہے جس سے کرنٹ اکاونٹ کے خسارے پر قابو پایا گیا ہے ۔ اس کمی کا محاصل پر براہ راست 700 ارب روپے کا اثر آیا جس کی وجہ سے دسمبر میں ایف بی آر کا ہدف 5505 ارب سے کم کرکے 4803 ارب روپے کردیا گیا تھا ۔ فروری تک ڈومیسٹک ٹیکسوں کی نمو 27 فی صد کے حساب سے ہورہی تھی اور امید تھی کہ 4803 ارب روپے کا ہدف باآسانی حاصل ہو سکے گا۔ کرونا لاک ڈاون کے باعث اس ہدف کو مزید کم کرکے 3907 ارب روپے کیا گیا جو ایف بی آر کے افسران اور عملے نے نامساعد حالات کے باوجود حاصل کر لیا۔
ایف بی آر نے مزید وضاحت کی ہے کہ حاصل کردہ ریوینیوکے یہ ابتدائی اعدادو شمار ہیں حتمی ریوینیو کے اعدادوشمارمیں بک ایڈجسٹمنٹ، فارم 32A، فیڈرل ٹریژری اور نیشنل بینک کی آف لائن برانچز سے وصولیوں کے بعد مزید اضافہ متوقع ہے ۔
واضح رہے کہ اس سال کرونا کے باعث ایف بی آر کے تیس سے زائد افراد انتقال کر چکے ہیں جس میں گریڈ 22 کے محمد زاہد کھوکھر بھی شامل ہیں ۔
ان تمام خطرات کے باوجود ایف بی آر کے تمام اہلکار جانفشانی اور تندہی سے اپنے فرائض انجام دیتے رہے ہیں ۔
