Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a clarification on a news story published in the daily Express Tribune in its issue dated 16th June, 2021. The story conveys an impression of divergence of views between Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue and FBR Officers during visit of Finance Minister in FBR HQ on the subject of possible revenue generation through integrated Point of Sales retailers.
FBR has clarified that there was complete harmony between the minister and FBR in determination of goals and objectives to achieve revenue target of the coming fiscal year, broadening of tax base, evolving of future strategy to increase revenue through integration & monitoring of POS linked retailers and other basic contours of future work to get off the ground from first of July, 2021. The proceedings of the meeting were conducted in a very candid environment under the guidance and leadership of Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue and ended after exchange of fruitful discussion on the subject of POS and increase in tax net by the participants.

فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو نے انگریزی روزنامہ ایکسپریس ٹریبیون میں چھپنے والی خبر پر وضاحت جاری کی ہے۔ خبر میں لکھا گیا ہے کہ وفاقی وزیر برائے خزانہ و ریونیو کے دورہ ایف بی آر ہیڈ کوارٹر کے دوران ایف بی آر ٹیم سے ملاقات میں ایف بی آر سے منسلک پوائینٹ آف سیلز ریٹیلرز سے حاصل ہونے والے ممکنہ ریونیو پر وزیربرائے خزانہ و ریونیو اور ایف بی آر کے افسران کے درمیان دو مختلف آراء کا اظہار کیا گیاہے۔ ایف بی آر نے سختی سے اس تاثر کی تردید کی ہے اور وضاحت میں کہا ہے کہ وفاقی وزیر برائے خزانہ و ریونیو اور ایف بی آر کے درمیان مقاصد کے حصول ، آئندہ مالی سال میں ریونیو ہدف کے حصول ، ٹیکس نیٹ میں اضافہ ، مستقبل میں ریٹیلرز کو پوائینٹ آف سیلز سے منسلک کرنے کی حکمت عملی اور یکم جولائی 2021 سے مختلف اقدامات کا آغاز کرنے میں مکمل آہنگی موجود ہے۔ ایف بی آر ہیڈکوارٹر میں ہونے والی میٹنگ وفاقی وزیر برائے خزانہ وریونیو کی صدارت اور راہنمائی میں نہایت ہی خوشگوار ماحول میں ہوئی اور ملاقات میں پوائیٹ آف سیلز اور ٹیکس نیٹ میں اضافہ کی موثر حکمت عملی وضع کی گئی۔
