Pakistan Customs, (FBR) Foils an Attempt of Smuggling of Urea Fertilizers to Afghanistan Worth Rs. 7.2 Million
Accomplishing a result-oriented anti-smuggling operation due to enhanced vigilance on all export consignments, the Collectorate of Customs Appraisement, Quetta seized illegal urea fertilizers worth Rs. 7.2 million being smuggled to Afghanistan.
Divulging the details of the action, Federal Board of Revenue stated that upon receipt of credible information of a huge quantity of urea fertilizers being smuggled to Afghanistan from Customs Stations, Chaman in the garb of fresh vegetables, the Assistant Collector, Custom House, Chaman formed a team to ensure an effective execution of the information. A 10-wheelers HINO truck was intercepted and its thorough examination led to the recovery of urea fertilizers tactfully concealed under the cover load of fresh vegetables (potatoes). A total of 480 bags of fertilizer urea, each weighing 50 kg were concealed under the cover load of 80 gunny bags of potatoes. The total value of the seizure was Rs. 7.2 million.
FIR against the exporters and clearing agent has already been lodged and one person has been arrested. Further investigation is underway to unearth all those involved in the case. All the export consignments are being closely monitored. It is pertinent to mention that Federal Board of Revenue is following a policy of zero tolerance against smuggling and thereby has increased vigilance and surveillance of cargo movement across the border.
Finance Minister, Shaukat Tarin, has commended FBR for its successful anti-smuggling drive across Pakistan. Likewise, Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division, Dr.Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed has appreciated Member Customs (Ops) FBR, Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda, in ensuring zero tolerance against smuggling of all shades and grades. He further reiterated his unflinching resolve to fight the menace of smuggling across the country in order to maximize tax compliance.

تمام برآمدی سامان پر نگرانی بڑھانے کے نتیجے میں انسداد سمگلنگ آپریشن کی تکمیل کرتے ہوئے، کلکٹریٹ آف کسٹمز اپریزمنٹ کوئٹہ نے 72 لاکھ روپے مالیت کی غیر قانونی یوریا کھاد ضبط کر لی جو افغانستان سمگل کی جا رہی تھی ۔
فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو کی جانب سے کارروائی کی تفصیلات کے مطابق ، کسٹم سٹیشن چمن سے تازہ سبزیوں کی آڑ میں بھاری مقدار میں یوریا کھاد افغانستان سمگل ہونے کی مصدقہ اطلاعات موصول ہونے پر اسسٹنٹ کلکٹر کسٹم ہاؤس چمن نےمؤثر کارروائی کرنے کیلئے ایک ٹیم تشکیل دی ۔ ایک 10 وہیلر ہینو ٹرک کو روک کر اس کی مکمل تلاشی کرنے پر تازہ سبزیوں (آلو) کے نیچے چھپائے گئے یوریا کھاد کے تھیلوں کو برآمدکرلیا گیا۔50 کلو یوریا کھاد کے کل 480 تھیلے آلو کی 80 بوریوں کے نیچے چھپائے گئے تھے ۔ ضبط شدہ سامان کی کل مالیت 72 لاکھ روپے تھی ۔
برآمد کنندگان اور کلیئرنگ ایجنٹ کے خلاف ایف آئی آر درج کی گئی اور ایک شخص کو گرفتار کرلیا گیا ۔ معاملے میں ملوث تمام افراد کو بے نقاب کرنے کے لیے مزید تفتیش کا عمل جاری ہے۔ تمام برآمدی سامان کی کڑی نگرانی کی جا رہی ہے۔ یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو اسمگلنگ کے خلاف زیرو ٹالرنس کی پالیسی پر عمل پیرا ہے ، لہٰذا بارڈر پر کارگو کی نقل و حرکت پر نگرانی بڑھا دی گئی ہے۔
وزیر خزانہ شوکت ترین نے ایف بی آر کی پاکستان بھر میں جاری کامیاب انسداد سمگلنگ مہم کو سراہا ہے ۔ چیئرمین ایف بی آر/سیکریٹری ریونیو ڈویژن، ڈاکٹر محمد اشفاق احمد نے ممبر کسٹمز (آپریشنز ) ایف بی آر سید محمد طارق ہداکی تمام طرح کی سمگلنگ کے خلاف عدم برداشت کی پالیسی اپنانے پر تعریف کی ہے ۔ انہوں نے ٹیکس کمپلائنس کو زیادہ سے زیادہ کرنے کے لیے ملک بھر میں اسمگلنگ کے ناسور کے خاتمے کے اپنے پختہ عزم کا اعادہ کیاہے۔
