FBR Press Release

The faculty and officers of 115th National Management Course, National School of Public Policy (NSPP) visited Federal Board of Revenue (HQs) on 9th December, 2021. The participants comprised 7 faculty member and 37 trainee officers of NMC. The Senior officers of FBR from the Administration Wing received the visiting guests. The delegation was briefed by Dr. Nasir Khan, Chief (Admn), FBR at Yadgar-e-Shohada of FBR about the sacrifices rendered by the officers of IRS and Pakistan Customs, who laid down their lives in the line of duty. 

Later, the delegates were led to the Auditorium where they were formally welcomed by the Spokesperson/Director Media, FBR. After the introduction by the participants, Dr. Nasir Khan, DG (SPR & S), FBR gave a detailed presentation about the working of FBR, which was followed by an interactive Question and Answer Session. The participants asked very pertinent questions about the taxation system in Pakistan, which were comprehensively answered by the Chairman FBR himself. 

After the Q & A Session, Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed, Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division addressed to the participants and shared his strategic vision about maximizing tax compliance through various innovative interventions being made both at policy and operational level. The Chairman thanked the participants for showing keen interest in knowing about the working of FBR and appreciated their questions. He highlighted the achievements of FBR in the 

last one and a half year. He particularly mentioned about the increased revenue generation by FBR in the last Financial Year 2020-21 and as well as the growth trajectory in the first five months of current Financial Year 2021-22. The Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to ensure transparency, efficiency and taxpayers facilitation. He highlighted the introduction of Track and Trace System, establishment of Single Sales Tax Portal and formulation of Single Revenue Code as game changer initiatives. “The use of digitization and technology will maximize the revenue potential in the long run and contribute significantly to the credibility of tax system,” he added. 

Representing the faculty and participants of 115th NMC, Dr. Muhammad Jameel Afaqi, Dean NSPP conveyed vote of thanks to Chairman and Team FBR for hosting them at FBR (HQs). The two organizations exchanged souvenirs as a gesture of goodwill. In the end, Chairman FBR thanked the faculty and participants of NMC for visiting FBR and wished them success in their professional career ahead.

115 ویں نیشنل مینجمنٹ کورس، نیشنل سکول آف پبلک پالیسی (NSPP) کی فیکلٹی ممبران اور افسران  نے 9 دسمبر 2021 کو فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو (ہیڈ کوارٹرز) کا دورہ کیا۔ شرکاء میں نیشنل مینجمنٹ کورس  کے 7 فیکلٹی ممبران  اور 37 ٹرینی افسران شامل تھے۔ ایف بی آر کے ایڈمنسٹریشن ونگ کے اعلیٰ افسران نے آنے  والے  مہمانوں کا پُرتپاک استقبال کیا۔ چیف (ایڈمن)، ایف بی آر  ڈاکٹر ناصر خان نے وفد کو  ایف بی آر کے یادگار شہدا میں آئی آر ایس اور پاکستان کسٹمز کے افسران کی قربانیوں کے بارے میں بریفنگ دی جنہوں نے اپنے فرض کے دوران  اپنی جانیں نچھاور کیں۔

بعد ازاں مندوبین کو آڈیٹوریم لے جایا گیا جہاں ترجمان/ڈائریکٹر میڈیا، ایف بی آر نے ان کا باقاعدہ  طور پر استقبال کیا۔ شرکاء کے تعارف کے بعد، ڈاکٹر ناصر خان، ڈی جی (ایس پی آر اینڈ ایس)، ایف بی آر نے فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو کے کام کے بارے میں تفصیلی پریزنٹیشن دی جس کے بعد سوال و جواب کاسیشن ہوا۔ شرکاء کی طرف سے پاکستان میں ٹیکس کے نظام کے بارے میں  موزوں سوالات کئے گئے جن کے جوابات  خود چیئرمین ایف بی آر   نے دیئے  ۔

سوال و جواب کے سیشن کے بعد ڈاکٹر محمد اشفاق احمد، چیئرمین ایف بی آر/سیکرٹری ریونیو ڈویژن نے شرکاء سے خطاب کیا اور پالیسی اور آپریشنل  سطحوں پر جدید تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ پیش رفتوں کے ذریعے  ٹیکس کمپلائنس  کو زیادہ سے زیادہ کرنے کے حوالے سے  اپنے ویژن کا اظہار کیا ۔ چیئرمین نے ایف بی آر کے امورمیں گہری دلچسپی ظاہر کرنے پر شرکاء کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور ان کے سوالات کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے گزشتہ ڈیڑھ سال کے دوران  ایف بی آر کی کامیابیوں پر بھی  روشنی ڈالی۔انہوں نے خصوصاًگزشتہ مالی سال 2020-21 میں ایف بی آر کی جانب سے   محصولات میں اضافے کے ساتھ ساتھ رواں مالی سال 2021-22کے  پہلے پانچ ماہ میں  بہترین کارکردگی کا بھی ذکر کیا ۔ چیئرمین نے شفافیت، کارکردگی اور ٹیکس دہندگان کی سہولت کو یقینی بنانے کے اپنے عزم کا اعادہ کیا۔ انہوں نے ٹریک اینڈ ٹریس سسٹم متعارف کرانے، سنگل سیلز ٹیکس پورٹل کے قیام اور سنگل ریونیو کوڈ کی تشکیل کو گیم چینجر اقدامات کے طور پر اجاگر کیا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ "ڈیجیٹائزیشن اور ٹیکنالوجی کا استعمال  سے  ریونیو کے امکانات   میں اضافے کے دوررس نتائج ملیں گے  اور ٹیکس نظام کی ساکھ میں اہم کردار ادا کرے گا۔"

115ویں نیشنل مینجمنٹ کورس  کے فیکلٹی ممبران  اور شرکاء کی نمائندگی کرتے ہوئےڈاکٹر محمد جمیل آفاقی، ڈین NSPP نے چیئرمین اور ٹیم ایف بی آر( ہیڈ کوارٹرز) میں میزبانی کرنے پر شکریہ ادا کیا۔ جذبہ خیر سگالی کے طور پر دونوں اداروں نے تحائف کا تبادلہ کیا۔ آخر میں چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے ایف بی آر کا دورہ کرنے پر این ایم سی کے فیکلٹی ممبران  اور  شرکاء کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور ان کے پیشہ ورانہ کیریئر میں کامیابیوں کیلئے نیک خواہشات کا اظہار کیا
