The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) through its Taxpayers Services Wing, conducted a tax awareness session at Superior College, Satellite Town Campus, Rawalpindi on 19th February, 2025.
The event was attended by Mr. Amir Rafique (Regional Director Superior College), Mr. Waheed Akhtar (Vice Principal), Ms Mehwish (HR Manager), faculty members, and students. The FBR team included Mr. Zafar Iqbal Khan (Second Secretary Tax Education), Mr. Salman Khaliq (Inspector), Mr. Muhammad Zia Farooqi (Coordinator), Mr. Manzoor Hussain and Mr. Tamoor from Taxpayers Services Wing. During the session, Mr. Zafar Iqbal Khan, gave a comprehensive presentation on the tax structure and overall working of FBR including measures taken by the FBR to increase revenue collection. He also apprised about the reform initiatives, currently being undertaken by the FBR to modernize the tax machinery for increased revenue generation. In his briefing, he also urged the students to become tax ambassadors by spreading awareness about tax obligations in their communities. Speaking on the occasion. Mr. Amir Rafique (Regional Director) appreciated the efforts of FBR in projecting positive image of the organization and fostering tax compliance culture in the country. At the end an interactive Q&A session was held, where participants asked questions related to taxation. On the occasion, souvenirs were also distributed among the students. This initiative is part of FBR’s continued efforts, to enhance awareness about the system amount the youth and promote culture of tax compliance in Pakistan.
